About This Concern

Eye Bags & Dark Circles: what happens

Under-eye bags and dark circles result from a combination of factors: thinning skin revealing underlying blood vessels, fluid retention causing puffiness, loss of structural fat and collagen, hyperpigmentation, and genetic predisposition. At Joy's Beauty, we address these concerns with gentle but effective approaches. The Hydro Facial offers an optional under-eye step using a low-pressure hydra-dermabradion wand suited for the delicate periocular area, providing deep hydration that reduces the shadowing caused by dehydrated skin. Eye Electroporation delivers a concentrated serum infusion directly into the under-eye zone to improve fine dehydration lines and mild brightness issues. Select cases may benefit from low-temperature RF applied very lightly after appropriate consultation.

Would you notice these?

Signs of Eye Bags & Dark Circles

A perpetually tired appearance even after adequate sleep

dark shadows or purple/blue hues beneath the eyes

puffiness or bags that are worst in the morning and improve slightly during the day

fine lines appearing more visibly on the upper eyelids and under-eye zone

tear trough hollows that create a shadowed appearance.

What to Expect

Your Eye Bags & Dark Circles journey

Every treatment begins with a consultation. Below is a general guide to what happens during your visit.
1

Eye Assessment

Your clinician distinguishes between pigmentation-type dark circles (respond well to Hydrating Facials and serum infusion), structural dark circles from tear-trough hollowing (need volume or skin thickening over time), and puffiness-type issues (fluid retention responds best to drainage-focused treatments

2

Eye Treatment Selection

Most clients begin with a Hydro Facial including the under-eye hydrating step. Darker or puffier areas are supplemented with Eye Electroporation in subsequent sessions, where available.

3

Treatment Session

Hydrafacial plus eye step typically takes 75–90 minutes total. RF microneedling on the under-eye zone is brief — additional 15–20 minutes during your main treatment session.

4

Aftercare & Review

Under-eye skin requires extra hydration after any energy-based treatment. A personalised eye-care plan is provided.

The under-eye area has exceptionally thin skin. Light treatments generally suit all types. Fractional RF microneedling near the eyes is performed at lower energy and may be limited to clients with good skin elasticity — older, very thin skin or pronounced tear-trough hollowing may require extended discussion with your clinician.

Aftercare & Safety Note

Before and after your Eye Bags & Dark Circles

Aftercare Instructions

  • Use an eye cream compatible with your post-treatment regime.
  • Sleep with your head slightly elevated on treatment nights to reduce fluid retention around the eyes.
  • Avoid rubbing or pressing on the under-eye area for 24 hours after treatment.
  • Wear sunglasses outdoors — UV exposure worsens periorbital pigmentation.

Safety Notes

  • If you have a tendency toward milia (tiny white cysts) under the eyes, heavy creams are avoided post-RF microneedling.
  • Eye Electroporation is gentle but may cause mild warmth — rare temporary redness resolves within a few hours.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

General treatment and aftercare questions. Speak with the clinic for Eye Bags & Dark Circles-specific queries.

Clinic treatments visibly improve many types of hereditary bags — particularly those caused by thin skin showing blood vessels or mild puffiness. Deeper structural bags may show partial improvement; more significant bags are traditionally addressed with surgical blepharoplasty.

When done carefully at lower energy settings, RF microneedling leaves minimal marks — typically light pink for 12–24 hours maximum. Bruising can occur rarely in very thin-skinned individuals.
